Jenny White
Hi! I'm Jenny.
Owner of Lucky Jonquil
I am excited to be able to share with you the thread storage tools and solid embroidery kits I make!
I went to art school in the 90's, while all my friends went on to become engineers. I wish that someone had said what the difference between fine art and design was way back then, because I always felt slightly out of place. After school I settled into the fiber arts, sewing, knitting, crochet, and cross stitch, the only thing I didn't cover in school.

Ardor Shawl
I'm a designer.
It took until 2022 to realize this, even though it's followed me my whole career.
In 2006, I was designing and sewing fabric baby carriers under the name JonquilMom, selling them to friends and online through Etsy. When I learned to knit (for the second time) in 2006 I found myself constantly altering patterns and started to design my own.
The knit & crochet patterns are still available through Ravelry under the Lucky Jonquil name, but was formerly known as zJonquil.
Through knitting and trade shows that I attended as a knitwear designer, I circled back into cross stitch and embroidery... which is something I had enjoyed as a kid.

Lucky Jonquil is based in the Charlotte metro area in North Carolina and is an online shop. We wholesale and participate in Shopify Collective, as well as sell direct. Sometimes you can find us in person set up at markets with our embroidery kits.
While most of the time Lucky Jonquil is just me, I do have help! My family cheers me on and is quick to assist where I need help: You'll find Dory (they/them) with me at many of our markets and trade shows, Jack (they/them) is our first true employee and does most of the actual laser cutting now, and Marcus (he/him) assists me with laser maintenance and troubleshooting.

What's a Jonquil?
It's a flower! Jonquils are a subclass of daffodils, primarily those with multiple flowers on a single stalk. Paperwhites are a commonly known jonquil.
More importantly, it's a flower that blooms through the cold and snow showing delicate strength in hard circumstances, and a harbinger of more pleasant time.
Stitching can be so similar.

Swatchable Storage
Swatches for youI began producing Swatch Drops during the pandemic. The idea was quickly copied once I listed them on Etsy. I don't list may items on Etsy now for this reason!

Spectrum of Color
ThreadsThe whole range of colors is my favorite color. I want to collect all of them simply to for a serotonin boost.
